The Story
A PSE&G fell into a coal hopper at approximately 6:30 a.m. On January 29, 2009 at the Generating Station on Lamberton Rd.
The worker was using a bulldozer to push coal into the hopper and the pile gave way, sending the man and tractor into the hole of about 50 feet.
The man was pulled out with only minor injuries, including a shoulder injury and facial abrasions. Crews from Hamilton's Engine 12, Ladder 13, Engine 15 and Engine 19 performed
the high angle rescue. Crews were honored today at a commendation ceremony held at the Hamilton Township Municipal Building officiated by Mayor Bencivengo.
